So, you've settled into the MixBANK platform, your catalog has been ingested, and you'd like to set up some rules around your catalog. Great!

What is a business rule?

Business Rules allow rights holders, both labels & publishers, to manage how their catalog can be used in mixes and remixes distributed through MixBANK.

Step 1 ) Start with a new business rule

To get started with setting up your first Business Rule, click on the pink plus sign located in the bottom right of your screen.

Step 2) Choose the right control

There are multiple types of Business Rules that give you a wide array of controls:

Global Blacklist

This type of Business Rule allows you to globally blacklist any artist, song or album from use within remixes and mixes.

This rule prevents a specific artist, song, album, work or composer of your choosing from being used within DJ mixes or remixes at any time. Additionally, all published mixes and remixes currently containing the content will be reported and removed from distribution.

Territory Control

This type of Business Rule allows you to set geographical restrictions on the distribution of your catalog in remixes and mixes.

This rule prevents a specific artist, song, album, work or composer of your choosing from being used within DJ mixes at any time within specific territories. Additionally, all published mixes currently containing the content will be removed from those territories.

Track Control

This type of Business Rule allows you to control how many times a specific track is used in a mix.

This rule prevents DJs from using an unlimited number of songs from your artists, albums or composers per mix.

Remix Control

This type of Business Rule allows you to control a specific remix that uses aspects of your catalog.

This rule gives you total control over how your catalog is used within remixes. Choose if you'd like to automatically block or manually review the remixes that contain the selected artist, album, song, work or composer in your catalog.

DJ Control

This type of Business Rule allows you to control which tiers of DJs can use your catalog in mixes, or both. You can even specify specific DJs as needed.

DSP Control

This type of Business Rule allows you to block the use of your catalog on specific DSPs.

This rule prevents an artist, song, album, work or composer from being used within mixes distributed to a specified music service. Additionally, all published mixes currently containing the content will be removed from those music services.

Step 3) "Create Rule"

Define your rule. Based on the control type you've chosen, you will now see options for how to define your rule. Once you've made a selection, the 'Create Rule' button will become active. Click to create your first rule!
